Lost Episode: Trust and the Rookie

Sly was waiting in his and Carmelita's new office; it had been in the works on for weeks now. Sly was sitting in his new swivel chair, leaning back in it and thinking. He had a millions thoughts racing through his head. After all those months of chasing him around, Sly finally had his big brother. Best of all he is living with him and his family. Right now his brother is watching his two little girls at home. However he knows there is a risk to that. For one, though Conway told him the night before they were gone, he knows about the "voices" in Conway's head. He knows Conway would never hurt the girls, but what if the voices hit Conway at the wrong moment, like when he is holding one of the girls. Sly felt bad that he didn't trust his own brother's mental well being around his girls. However he did see it more than once with Conway. In the allyway, and just a week ago in China when Conway tried to blow his brians out because of the voices.
Sly would put his hand over his and Carmelita's office phone, he wanted to call and check up on Conway. He debated with himself for a while on if he should or shouldn't. Would it show that he didn't trust his brother or would it just be to just check up on him. After awhile he takes a deep breath and calls up his house. After about four rings someone picked up, it was Conway was sounded like he was in a good mood. "Cooper household, Conway speaking." hearing his brother sounding like he did when he left this morning was a good sign. "Hey Conway, it's Sly." Sly trying to make his tone sound less worried.
"Just called to check on you and the girls."
Conway chuckled a little on his side of the phone. "We are doing fine, just enjoying lunch." He said.
"Isn't that right girls?"
Conway pointed the phone at Carmen and Jennissy, who are both in their high chair. "Say hi to daddy." Sly hears his two little girls just oooing, gooing, and making the cutest baby sounds. "Hi girls." He said speaking a little loud just so they could hear him. The girls just giggle and continue making baby sounds.
Conway gets back on the phone. "So how is work?" He asked. "It's good I guess, Carmelita is on a case right now." Sly answered, spinning a little in his chair. "Why didn't you go with her?" Conway asked. Sly told Conway before that he and Carmelita, when on a case are always together. "Well I was feeling a little ill." Sly said, coming up with the fastest excuse he could. He didn't want to say because he was worried about Conway and the girls. "That sucks bro, hope you get better." Conway said, now the one who is worried. "Oh, but I am feeling better now that I took some meds." He quickly said. He didn't want to worry Conway. Now he feels even more bad that not only did he have doubts with his brother, now he got him worried about his health. "Oh, well that's good." Conway said in relief. "I got to get back to some paper work." Sly said.
"We will bring something home to eat, so tell Ben that when he gets home from pre-school."
"Alright Bro." Conway said happily. "Bye." Sly said. "Bye" Conway said back before hanging up.
Sly put the phone back on the hook and buried his face in his hands. It was a relief things are okay at home, but he did felt like crap for doing that. Maybe he should have told Conway he stay behind to call in on him and check up, instead of telling this lie about being ill. But before he could think more into it, he hears his wife enter the HQ and the grunting sounds of criminals.
Carmelita had three mob looking guys tied up together in one rope. All three of them looked pretty beat up, one looked like he had a tooth knocked out. Sly and the interpol agents clap and cheer for Carmelita for another day well done. "More members of the Nunzio family I see." Cheif Barkley  said with a chuckle. He lights up a cigar and montions to the gaurds to take the Nunzio boys away. "I can't take all the credit." Carmelita said as others shake her hand and pat her shoulder. A blond female wolf with big glasses, wearing a Satin Aqua Blouse, with a white dress pants. She looked about in her early 20's and was pretty shy around the other agents. Carmelita looked over and smiled. "The rookie Serena was a big help." The others look over at her and Serena quickly looks down, blush covering her face." Mrs. Cooper d-did most of the work." She spoke softly. She rubs the back of her head nervously. "I think I will go to my desk now." She said before quickly heading off. Carmelita sighs but chuckles and rolls her eyes. "Rookies."
Carmelita headed to her office, half there she met up with her husband. "Hey Sly." She said with a smile before giving him a kiss on his lips. "I see had a pretty interesting day." Sly chuckled.
"You got to give me details."
"I will, but it will have to be later because I need a good cup of coffee." Carmelita said, heading into their office. "I have some brew up." Sly said following Carmelita. Carmelita sat at her desk as Sly pours them both cups of coffee. When he gives Carmelita her cup, she thanks him with a kiss on the lips again.
As they sat at their desk and drink their coffee, they begin to chat a little. "I called up Conway right before you came back." Sly said. Carmelita gives a little sigh, Sly knows it's clear that Carmelita isn't a big fan of Conway. She allowing him to stay with them because he is Sly's brother, but she really doesn't trust him; also has other reasons. "And?" She said taking another sip of her coffee. "He and the girls are having fun, he was feeding them lunch when I called." Sly said happily. Sly really wants Carmelita to get along with his brother to make things less awkward in the household. "Good." Carmelita said as she starts working on her papers. Sly really wants Carmelita to see Conway in a positive light, but that may take more than just a few days since he moved in. He has a feeling one reason she doesn't trust him is because Conway might make him remember who he really is. So getting Carmelita to trust Conway won't be a easy thing.
